In the spring of 2005 I was invited to participate in the L.A. County Arboretum's Baldwin Bonanza, their annual garden show. The display garden I designed focused on drought-tolerant plants that defied common perceptions of such by having a lush look. Plants included native rushes and some newly-introduced restios from South Africa, along with flowering plants in cool blue tones. All of the plantings were set in a large aluminum clad "container" that we constructed, giving the garden a contemporary feel. Custom-designed pavers completed the look.

The garden was awarded “Best In Show.”
