The yard of this Arts and Crafts bungalow was dominated by a very large avocado tree and a driveway that took up about 1/3 of the space. To marry the straight lines of the Craftsman home with the curving driveway, we created a large sweeping patio of exposed aggregate slabs which were poured in place. The patio is surrounded by lush, shade tolerant plantings, creating a tranquil space full of movement, elegance and drama.
